As the Squadron Commander of 349 Fighter Squadron, I’m delighted with your attention. This website will tell you the story about our glorious squadron.
349s history is rich, as from the foundation of the Squadron during WWII. Our pilots have flown in the frontline of the armed conflicts the Belgian armed forces have participated to; during WWII, over the Balkans and most recently over Afghanistan.
Furthermore we were the first operational F-16 squadron in NATO. Having been earmarked as part of the immediate reaction forces of NATO, high readiness, coupled to professionalism, is our brand. It has served us well in the past and it will do so in the future.
It will be our commitment to update you on a regular basis on the status of 349. We are sure you will enjoy our stories, our pictures, our testimonies.
