November 28, 2010 - Pilots and support personnel of 349 (F) sqn are currently deployed at Kandahar Airbase in the south-east of Afghanistan. In support of the NATO ISAF mission, six F-16s fly in support of the ground troops and provide valuable reconnaissance.
They are now half way in their 4-month deployment. To celebrate this event, a team of technicians surprised the whole detachment with a beautifully made wooden crest in classic 349 spirit.
Next up is the so-called T-wall. Every OGF (Operation Guardian Falcon) rotations goes a long way to leave a lasting impression in the Belgian compound. Over the next weeks, the gifted painters will put up their design (see below) on the large concrete walls in the rest & relieve area. To be continued!
