September 17, 2010 - 349 (F) Squadron at Kleine Brogel airbase is hosting a Tactical Discussions and Procedures Update from September 14th until September 23rd 2011. This TDPU will comprise both flying and lectures, focusing on Combined Air Operations, air superiority exercises and Network Centric Warfare.
The exercise will comprise five live flying days during which large-scale COMAO operations will be trained in different scenarios. One day will be dedicated to lectures, given by specialists from amongst others the Joint Air Power Competence Center. The ultimate objective is to fly missions challenging the modern tactics in order to discuss their relevance versus actual and future opponents.
Modern air warfare makes use of data links for Situational Awareness building, coordination and control. To prove and train this important awareness builder, Link16 will be incorporated in all missions.
An international spottersday will be held to please every fast jet enthousiast. The exact date is still to be determined.
